School of Practical Politics
ACT's School of Practical Politics (SoPPs) provides the right tools to help future ACT candidates and volunteers prepare for a successful 2023 General Election.
Sound like you?
We're inviting ACT's current members to join our October class. If you're keen to channel your concern about where we're headed as a nation into expanding your campaigning skills, we'd love you to be involved.
You will develop new and highly transferable skills that can play a part in helping ACT achieve a decisive election result in 2023. It's a great opportunity to meet other like-minded people in a warm, collegial environment where no one is an expert, there are no silly questions, and it's safe to be yourself and have your say.
Aiming to become a candidate?
SoPP is the first step in the ACT candidate development programme. You can register your interest in becoming a 2023 election candidate at any time, but you must complete the SoPP. Further information will be available during the course.
What to expect?
You'll learn more about the principles and practicalities of campaigning and ACT's campaign style, all based on Professor Tom Flanagan's book Winning Power.
The SoPP consists of eight online Zoom modules over eight weeks, including a session linking you to your local Party ACTivate programme to apply your new skills in a practical way in a practical setting.
